We are supporting our long-established East Midlands accountancy client in growing their team as they are now recruiting for an experienced VAT Manager.

THE ROLE

As a VAT Manager, you will be instrumental in leading on tax projects, providing VAT advice and compliance assignments to ensure the successful completion of tax advice for clients. You will also work with Directors and Managers across the team on client assignments, ensuring they are well informed on progress as well as identifying and escalating any issues. Responsibilities include:

• Act as primary contact for clients and provide full account management
• Be recognised as a technical expert, utilising opportunities to share knowledge and expertise to increase overall performance
• Build a network of potential new clients to identify new business opportunities
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to help others with VAT related queries and projects

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal VAT Manager will be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:

• Fully qualified (either by relevant qualification or experience)
• People management experience
• VAT advisory skills and experience, including cross-border knowledge
• Project management
• Robust communication and interpersonal skills
• May have specialised experience in a sector/developed industry knowledge
