R&D Mechanical Engineer

Newark, Full Time, Permanent

We are proud to be partnered with a long-standing Newark based client who are seeking a R&D Mechanical Engineer. As a R&D Mechanical Engineer you will work within a close-knit team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with an aim to develop and implement new products and technologies.


As an R&D Mechanical Engineer your role will involve:

-Design and conception ideas for new products

-Conducting research and analyse data to drive continues improvement

-Telephone support for clients and engineers on site

-Produce and amend 2D & 3D drawings

-Producing calculations for client approval on designs

-Carry out FEA on existing and new designs

-Attending site to diagnose any issues and assisting with technical problems

-Being available on the shop floor and to assistant with problems if needed


The ideal R&D Mechanical Engineer will possess:

HNC – HND or higher required

-Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D

-Proven experience in a similar role

-Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects

-Time served Engineering experience

-Fabrication and welding skills

-A strong communicator


-Monday – Friday (No weekends) Early finish on a Friday

-28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) to increase with length of service

-Free parking
