Our global client are seeking a European Tax Manager to be responsible for the preparation and submission of all UK corporate tax returns and preparation of transfer pricing documentation for the whole of Europe. This hands-on role is full time and permanent and offers a hybrid working week.

Role and Responsibilities

A suitable European Tax Manager candidate duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing, preparing and taking responsibility for direct tax queries for the European region with a hands-on approach to compliance and reporting activity
  • Preparing and reviewing European group transfer pricing documentation and maintaining up-to-date intercompany trading contracts
  • Managing the European transfer pricing structure
  • Managing the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns (for example, maximising the use of tax losses, capital allowance and group relief). Managing queries, negotiations and relationship with HMRC in order to achieve maximum tax benefit
  • Preparing year end corporate and deferred tax provisions
  • Preparing tax notes for inclusion in UK statutory accounts
  • Preparing tax models for forecasts, budgets and business plans
  • Providing support for overseas offices relating to local or group tax issues
  • Adhoc project and advisory work alongside maintenance of tax risk register

Candidate

A suitable European Tax Manager candidate will ideally possess the following:

  • Recognised accountancy and / or professional tax qualification – ACA / CTA / ATT / ACCA
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of the UK Corporate tax regime
  • Practical knowledge of corporate structures and transfer pricing models
  • Good technical accounting skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge

You must be a good problem solver, with the ability to negotiate and possess excellent organisational and project management skills.

We are looking for a professional with a minimum of 7 years post qualification financial accounting and tax experience. In-house corporation tax experience would be desirable and we would welcome applications from practice candidates also.
