The Role

Working within a small but extremely busy team, The Accounts Receivable Assistant will be involved in the following key duties:

Cash Allocation

  • Allocate incoming cash on a daily basis
  • Process adjustment journals
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies


  • Generate and send out invoices
  • Ensure that invoice requests are raised & sent in a timely manner

Credit Control

  • Generate age debt analysis
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Carry out credit control and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
  • Follow up on payment requests
  • Maintain credit control records for weekly reporting
  • Raise manual credit notes

Other Key Duties

  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
  • Process end of day for the bank
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Sales Ledger and business process improvement
  • Provide cover for other team members
  • Investigate customer claims and challenge where required

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous similar experience, ideally within an accounts receivable team in addition to:

  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literacy (Microsoft Office) plus experience of accountancy systems
  • Being a team player
  • Self-motivated and accountable
  • Being able to create and maintain strong internal and external working relationships
