Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Newark, Full time, Permanent
£35,000 to £40,000 (depending on shifts)

Our Client is currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to install, maintain and modify Machine Tools and other plant and equipment in order to ensure that production facilities are available to meet site objectives.

Role and Responsibilities

As Electrical Maintainer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding promptly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and identifying and carrying out appropriate repairs
  • Installing electrical and mechanical components within in-house machinery for machines to function efficiently
  • Identifying modifications for existing machinery to create improvements in their efficiency and reliability
  • Creating electrical drawings for effective fault diagnostics on new or modified machinery
  • Hands-on development and deployment of TPM activities and asset care routines and procedures
  • Carry out safety improvement tasks following findings from risk assessments and inspection reports
  • Compliance with H.A.S.W policy and statutory regulations
  • Assisting in the creation of documentation, systems and procedures for recording breakdowns, preventative maintenance and safety improvements


A successful Electrical Engineer will possess the following skills and experience:

  • An ONC/HNC Electrical qualification or recognised relevant apprenticeship
  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in PLC programming and display programming
  • Knowledge of PLC and AC/DC drives
  • Mechanical experience including basic hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work unaided
