Senior Electrical Engineer
Newark, Full Time, Permanent

Our well established and industry leading Client is looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team on a full time and permanent basis to support continued growth plans within the business.

Role

Working closely with the Director of Engineering you will be responsible for supporting a range of engineering activity including:

  • Manage design work to agreed deadlines and according to quality systems
  • Work with production Engineers to solve production related issues
  • Conduct reviews of Circuits and PCBs to ensure specifications and standards are achieved
  • Discuss proposals and work directly with with Clients and end-Users
  • Work with colleagues to design new systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology
  • Test theoretical designs
  • Write specifications and technical reports
  • Ensure products work with devices developed by others and perform consistently in the specified operating environments
  • Create user-friendly interfaces
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies and regulations
  • Produce PCB designs to IPC standards
  • Write firmware
  • Provide timely engineering feedback on quotations and technical enquiries
  • Custom Designs - manage the customer interface and deliver on agreed deadlines
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to improve quality through redesign

Candidate

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5-10 years of design experience preferably in electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience managing, mentoring and leading a team
  • Schematic capture and PCB CAD
  • Firmware language C
  • Proven ability to deliver on-time and to specification
  • Familiarity with HID, USB, CAN
  • Experience with Microchip and Cypress IDE and processors
  • Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems
  • Working knowledge of IEC/MIL standards
