Our National client are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor in the Wiltshire area to join their busy and expanding team on a fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

As Quantity Surveyor for the Wiltshire area your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with contractors to ensure that projects and works commence on time and are managed effectively through to completion
  • Conduct site visits to ensure completion of valuations or works/variations etc for works such as kitchens and bathrooms, rewires, heating, loft insulation, doors and windows, play areas, external wall insulation etc
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and recorded to enable commercial sign-off
  • Monitor site set ups for new projects making sure that all Health and Safety regulations are followed to ensure the safety and continued access to residents is not disrupted.
  • Ensure that all H&S documentation etc is present and correct and that all contractors have the necessary tickets prior to work commencement
  • Assess and approve all site specific project method statements and risk assessments and ensure that there is a daily signing in register for all site operatives and visitors
  • Assume full responsibility for the management of the temporary works
  • Undertake on-site inspections, safety audits, WIP inspections, security checks and the general running of the site is appropriate
  • Ensure that properties are completed on time and to the specified budget


The successful QS will possess the following:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the current Construction Design Management regulations and the ability to interpret and relate them to the various projects
  • A confident personality with the ability to manage any site, contractor or health and safety issues
  • The ability to work to strict guidelines and have a flexible approach to workloads
  • A full understanding of the Building Environment
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to react quickly to challenges
  • Experience in the use of Works Manager, PropMain, and Microsoft Office
