Inventory Accountant
Maidenhead, Full time, Permanent
Salary £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate accounting over finished goods stocks and associated transactions.

Role and Responsibilities

As Inventory Accountant, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Month end inventory procedures, along with the production of entity reports including full reconciliation of accounts
  • Preparing quarterly, half year and year end statutory reporting financial statements including audit files on all inventory balances
  • Ensuring accurate stock provision (SMOS and NRV), advising the consolidation team on PUP provisioning
  • Accurate accounting for the Duty provision on Inventory on Hand
  • Monitoring stock counts and perpetual inventory counts (inclusive of consignment stock areas at customer sites)
  • Monitoring internal controls over stock and other processes to detect errors
  • Streamlining processes, increasing efficiency
  • Driving forward process improvement and quality of financial information
  • Ensuring compliance with JSOX
  • Providing expert advice to the business o the group's stock accounting and related systems (RAS / Oracle / Minstral)


A successful Inventory Accountant will possess the following:

  • ACCA / CIMA qualification
  • Good accounting knowledge
  • Understanding of inventory accounting processes

You will be an action oriented individual with the ability to work unsupervised with excellent interpersonal skills. An Inventory Accountant must be forward thinking, possess good problem solving skills and be able to present financial information confidently and efficiently.
