Application Engineer - Industrial Aftermarket Sales
Based in Scotland, Company Car, Full time, Permanent
Salary £35,000 - £42,000

We are seeking an Application Engineer (Industrial Aftermarket Sales) to cover Scotland, North of England and Northern Ireland. This person will be responsible for developing and expanding sales, using their knowledge of engineering technology whilst developing the range of targeted MRO end-user customers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing sales led opportunities (with a focus on end-user targets)
  • Initiating and managing sales and engineering project activity
  • Maintaining awareness of latest company products and technologies, as well as application development in the marketplace
  • Developing and providing application and product training to sales staff (internal and external)
  • Driving and maintaining sales and project opportunities using the AIP process
  • Developing relationships with customers in your sales region and assigned accounts
  • Maintaining the CRM system (Salesforce)

Candidate

An ideal candidate for the role will possess the following:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent in an engineering related discipline
  • Experience of both Industrial Distributor relationships and the strategy and tactics for a network of Distributors
  • Understanding of industrial processes with rotational equipment and associated products
  • Ability to utilise relevant skills in the selling of company technology and promotion of the brand
  • Ability to maintain relationships and credibility with customers in regards to sales, technical and quality issues
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate at all levels
  • Ability to understand the commercial and technical implications within situations
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Have the ability to coach and train others, as well as prepare and deliver presentations

You will possess basic IT skills (MS Office programs) and be willing to learn new corporate IT systems. The Application Engineer must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ideally you will have:

  • 3 or more years’ experience in a Application Engineering role
  • Technical knowledge in order to select the right product solutions
  • Experience in managing direct account relationships
  • Customer facing experience

National and International travel will be a regular part of this role
Candidates must possess a full, clean UK driving licence and valid passport
