Peterborough, Full time, Permanent
Salary £50,000 - £60,000 DOE

We are seeking an experience, enthusiastic and driven Sales Manager with a proven record of strategic and operational management of sales activity and hitting sales targets through successful management and development of a sales team.

Role and Responsibilities

The Sales Manager will work closely with directors, MD and the management team and will require a systematic proactive approach in planning for sales growth and maximising sales at customer events whilst training and mentoring the team consistently.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the sales and business vision, strategies and innovation
  • Setting sales plans and targets
  • Implementing sales strategies
  • Encouraging, developing and mentoring the sales team
  • Reporting monthly on feedback and putting forward suggestions for improvement, as well as on performance against sales targets
  • Setting KPI’s and targets whilst monitoring individual performance
  • Working with the sales team to increase revenue, maintaining service levels and building relationships
  • Distributing workload fairly
  • Increasing call volume and quality of service given
  • Setting and monitoring sales commissions
  • Building internal relationships with department managers (working closely with marketing, Head of Events and Business Analyst)
  • Attending various sales events to grow sales performance

As a Sales Manager, your will be responsible for:

  • Day to day management of the sales; holding performance reviews, appraisals, weekly meetings
  • Recruitment and on-boarding of sales and staff
  • Coaching and mentoring the sales team on techniques
  • Holding daily team talks, and product and service training along with ad-hoc briefings


An ideal candidate for the Sales Manager position should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of managing a sales team
  • Face to face customer experience
  • Determined and ambitious
  • Experience of managing sales targets up to a value of £10m
  • Confident, target driven and ambitious
  • Motivated, strategic and results oriented
