Senior Electrical Engineer
Newark, Full Time, Permanent
£35,000 - £40,000

Our well established and industry leading Client is looking to recruit an electronics Engineer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis to support a period of sustained growth.


in this role you will be working closely with and responsible to Senior Electronic Development Engineer, the successful applicant will be accountable for:

  • Supervise Junior Engineers, Technicians and Craftspeople
  • Work with production Engineers to solve production related issues
  • Manage design work to agreed deadlines and according to quality systems
  • Conduct reviews of Circuits and PCBs to ensure specifications and standards are achieved
  • Design and develop the products defined in the Company Development Plan
  • Discuss proposals with Clients
  • Work with colleagues to design new systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology
  • Test theoretical designs
  • Write specifications and technical reports
  • Ensure products work with devices developed by others, can be made again reliably, and perform consistently in the specified operating environments
  • Create user-friendly interfaces
  • Attend meetings with subcontractors
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies and regulations
  • Produce PCB designs to IPC standards
  • Write firmware
  • Provide timely engineering feedback on quotations and technical enquiries
  • Custom Designs - manage the customer interface and deliver on agreed deadlines
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to improve quality through redesign


  • Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of design experience preferably in electro-mechanical systems
  • Schematic capture and PCB CAD
  • Firmware language C
  • Proven ability to deliver on-time and to specification
  • Experience of managing a team would be advantageous

Experience of the below would be desirable:

  • Experience with Microchip and Cypress IDE and processors
  • Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems
  • Working knowledge of IEC/MIL standards
