Assistant Management Accountant
Maidenhead, Full time, Permanent
Salary dependent on experience

Our client, located in Maidenhead are seeking a full time, permanent Assistant Management Accountant to join their busy team. An ideal candidate will have some accounts / finance based experience.

Role and Responsibilities

As Assistant Management Accountant, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation and production of analysis’, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaising with HR to analyse headcount information
  • Produce monthly analysis of Selling, General and Administrative Expenses (SG&A) expenditure (providing variance analysis to budget, forecast and prior year)
  • Chairing meetings with SG&A departments
  • Presenting the monthly SG&A results to management
  • Producing adhoc financial analysis and reporting as required to support operations and project requirements
  • Providing basic financial guidance to department heads and their teams to promote financial awareness
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial material and presentations for the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Managers
  • Actively seeking opportunities to continuously improve functionality
  • Developing financial skills and knowledge through work experience and professional study to become a qualified Management Accountant


A successful Assistant Management Accountant will be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Basic accounting knowledge with an understanding of rules and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • High degree of computer literacy and strong IT skills (Powerpoint and Excel)
  • Proficient database and spreadsheet skills
  • Basic awareness and understanding of budgeting and variance analysis techniques
  • Experience of building flexible models using Index, Match, Offset, Lookup and Indirect formulas to meet business requirements and using multiple foreign currencies

It would be advantageous if you have working knowledge of HFM and Oracle Financial software


  • Educated to a Degree level in a finance related subject
  • AAT Qualified (or equivalent)
  • Studying or looking to study towards your CIMA qualification
